THE FIRST ALTAR CALL AT WESTMINSTER CHAPEL

When I first invited Arthur Blessitt to speak at Westminster Chapel, the place was packed from top to bottom. Arthur gave what was almost certainly the first altar call at Westminster Chapel. Just before that service, in the vestry (pastor’s office) Arthur casually said to me, “Now when I give the invitation . . . ”

I interrupted, “Arthur, we don’t do that here.”

“We don’t?” he replied.

Seeing the look on his face, I said, “Well, if you feel led, go ahead.”
